Over 300 fitness fans and adventurers descended upon Edinburgh Academy for an evening of inspiration with Mark Beaumont and Craig Mathieson, organised by Stockbridge Local and Ronde Bicycle Outfitters.
World record-breaking ultra-endurance cyclist and TV Broadcaster, Mark Beaumont shared short films, photography and stories from his recent Cairo to Cape Town World Record cycle. He also lifted the lid on his latest adventures in Scotland, including his non-stop North Coast 500 ride and shared stories from his round the world cycle and other adventures across the globe.
Mark was joined by guest speaker, polar explorer Craig Mathieson, who had recently returned from Greenland with a group of Scottish school children. Craig introduced his charity, The Polar Academy, and explained the transformational benefits of Arctic expedition on Scottish youngsters.
The event sold out in just over one month and was an overwhelming success raising nearly £1,000 for the Polar Academy charity and was covered in Ion-Edinburgh and feedback included:
- “Expected it to be great but it was amazing”.
